The “Year of Darwin”

But not if we can help it!

As we foreshadowed, the humanists have branded 2009 as the “Year of Darwin”. If you’re new to what’s happening, 2009 marks the 200^th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth and 150 years since the publication of his Origin of Species. By now though you have probably seen the virtual veneration of Mr Darwin to almost God-like status. The secularists believe his “deity” is justified because Darwin’s work changed the world forever. Unfortunately, we have to wholeheartedly agree with them about his profound effect.

            The “hyping” of Darwinism intentionally seeks to marginalize anybody who dares to criticize. Bible-believing Christians will be fair game, in the same way that the skeptics used the “facts” contained in the book (and movie) The Da Vinci Code. Sadly, the church was always playing catch-up on this one in trying to point out that Dan Brown’s book was nothing more than misleading fiction. We too often underestimate the well organized opposition to Christianity. The lesson is that we need to be prepared and proactive. Don’t be fooled by rhetoric that claims criticizing Darwin’s theory is “unchristian” and turns people off. This is a tactic used to “guilt” the Christian into silence, and it’s surprising how many fall for it. Yet, just ten minutes talking on the street with passers-by shows how this issue is a stumbling block to faith for the majority of people.

This documentary film presents an incredible opportunity for every dad, mum and ordinary layperson to stand up and be counted.  Whenever you hear an expert on the TV, radio or in print you can respond by referring to this high-class documentary, featuring experts from many camps. It gently but powerfully challenges the viewer to “think again”, with information most are unaware of as to what helped shape his views.  It also dares to reveal how many of the evidences that helped convince him of evolution and ‘millions of years” were, in the light of modern science, clearly misinterpreted by Darwin.
